We specialise in Full Building Surveys (previously known as Structural Surveys) this is a detailed inspection of properties including; houses, bungalows, converted and purpose-built flats, warehouses, shops, factories, leisure facilities and offices. These are detailed reports designed to provide the buyer with expert building advice before proceeding with a purchase.

A Full Building Survey may be carried out on any type of property, however is more necessary on older type buildings, poorly maintained or unusual type properties or a house on the larger scale. This type of survey is also excellent if you wish to alter or extend your property substantially or if this has already been carried out on the property.

We are regulated by the RICS and licenced to provide the full suite of surveys supported by the RICS. The Surveys are designed as reports for properties such as purpose built and converted flats, houses, bungalows and maisonettes, and will confirm any urgent or significant defect with a valuation using a traffic-light system.

If you just need advice on a single concern in a building you own, you can commission a Specific Defect Report. This is a detailed inspection on a specific element of the property. This type of survey is ideally suited for all types of properties including houses, maisonettes, offices, bungalows, shops, converted or purpose built flats, warehouses, leisure facilities and mixed use properties, which include both a commercial and residential element investigating and reporting in depth on a specific element of the property. This may be dampness, subsidence, poor workmanship, cracking, structure of the roof or any other structural or actual defects.

The works consisted of the upgrading of the existing historic building – formally the summer residence of the Sheriff of Lancashire and his family from 1898.

“Care was taken with this very prominent building located on the main road in to the seaside town of Southport – The design was sympathetic to the original layout of the building with nearly all of the structural walls staying in their original position – The external sandstone and brickwork was retained and restored, the building was brought up to modern standards with regard to insulation and draft and damp proofing”​​
