Architectural Services

Who we are

Paul Ennis Architecture is a Chartered Building Consultancy, which is expert in the design of buildings and has been in private practice for over ten years. In that time we have built a practice that can complete most tasks in relation to construction and the built environment.

We are based in Liverpool, Preston and Southport operating throughout the Northwest, with our team of Corporate Building Engineers, Chartered Building Surveyors, Structural Engineers and Architectural Technicians, working forward to realise clients property and construction objectives.

Our experience allows us to conduct in – house measured surveys from small domestic properties to large office and factory complexes, to produce drawings and bespoke design. We provide a wide range of services tailored to suit your individual needs. Every project we carry out is different and that is why we pride ourselves on our ability to tailor solutions to meet our client’s needs. Please view further pages for details.

The key qualities of a good architectural service evolve as the project progress. At inception we pride ourselves in being able to listen attentively to the clients’ aspirations and problems, arriving at a creative solution focused on the clients’ objectives, while achieving the right balance of design, financial restrictions and build-ability.

As the project moves to detailed design an architect is required to delve into the projects minutiae and develop a comprehensive job specification that is both technically in depth, concise and understood by both the contractor and the client.

Once on site with the necessary statutory permissions in place the consultant must become an impartial, flexible and accessible problem solver as well as a diligent and punctual administrator. The Paul Ennis team have all these assets and more!

So whether you’re looking for:

  • The full architectural service
  • To contract with our sister company on a design and build basis
  • To have our CAD technicians prepare cost effective plans for internal remodelling, bathroom plans & minor works not involving planning permission
  • Just simple advice on how best to take the next step with your project

Paul Ennis has the flexibility and knowledge to help you as we are expert in both Commercial & Domestic Schemes.

In essence we look at buildings, both existing and proposed, we survey them – in the sense of taking in possibilities, problems, challenges and opportunities and then we make sure they will in turn meet the requirements of those who have interests in them, whether they are owner or occupier. Along the way we also help to ensure the well-being of those affected by other people’s buildings and works.

Our designers have designed many house extensions, houses, conversions, disabled adaptations, hotel and apartment adaptations, public bars, night clubs and retail shops.

Extensions or conversions can add significant value to your home or business premises, as well as the benefits of a larger building.

Our design team will talk through your ideas and desires for your home or business, provide guidance and bring our valuable experience to produce your designs and drawings.

We take note of your ideas and requests, then provide workable solutions that will be processed through to Planning Permission and Building Regulation Submissions.

We have a combined experience in the Northwest of over 100 years and focus on helping local people realise their dreams for a larger home or a sound investment

We pride ourselves in talking through some of these ideas leading to the best design for you, for re-sale value or for all the many other reasons that exist to make changes to your home or business.

What’s next

Having an extension or conversion can be a rather daunting process … we take all of the jargon and the difficult processes of obtaining Planning Permission and Building Regulations approval and translate them for you.

We will achieve the results that you want within the stringent rules and regulations that exist. These rules are governed by your Local Authority.

In the first instance, contact us on our contact page.

Usually a telephone conversation or a short visit to your home or business will enable you to explain your thoughts to us, we will come up with some great ideas and move the process forward.

We look forward to working with you!
